An optical spanner is used to take apart and assemble lenses, shutter retainers and any number of other mechanisms using threaded ring fastener.

The robust steel construction has a knob to tighten securely on the trammel bar. It can be tightened with the hand.

Its slotted bits can be opened to its standard maximum of 68mm. Its maximum depth is 38mm.
